Or don't they? Isn't the whole situation so simple and clear? And didn't so many others actually see where it is going and therefore shorted the financial stocks before the crash? I don't believe for a second that anyone with a head, and especially with a PhD in economics could have honestly thought that US markets are in good shape back in March.
