Japan, UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Canada and Australia - the Stock Market G8

The economic G8 is the group of countries that regularly meet to discuss global economic concerns, includes the U.S., France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Italy, the UK, and Canada. However there is a different Stock Market G8 grouping that has dominated developed stock markets for the past 20 years. For the past twenty years, Japan, the UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Canada and Australia have been the top performing developed market every one of those years. Click on the chart above for a larger picture of the developed market leading performers over the past 20 years.

This chart is exactly the reason why I dig in global markets outside of the U.S. so often. Furthermore, I much prefer to dig in markets that don’t even populate this list yet. I prefer to find the global markets now that will be dominated this periodic investment chart in years to come but are off the list currently. In any event, this chart is a solid reminder of why your outlook in investing can not be nationalistic and must have a global outlook.
