		<description>It was interesting to read about Indians&#039;s habits of gold saving.  Probably they are the only people with such emotional attachment with gold.

In India, there are two trends in gold consumption in jewellry.  Traditionally gold is used for jewellery in marriages for brides.  Given a young demography, we can expect trend of no of marriages to be higher for next few decades or so.  So gold demand for marriage jewellery is a secular trend tied to its emotive aspect and is not going to change in a few years time.  The other is use of non-gold jewellery, e.g. diamonds, and lesser so platinum.  Demand for these is being created by advertisers for last few years.  It will definitely take away some demand for casual jewellery away from gold, but not so much marriage jewellery  I think.

It would be interesting to see analysis on these lines.</description>
